 | Infinite Stratos (2011) Genres: Action, Comedy, Romance, Sci-fi Episodes: 12 Description: The story revolves around the IS Academy and its students who are training to become pilots for the IS (Infinite Stratos) weapon system. It so happens that this system can only be operated by females. However there was one young man named Orimura Ichika (15) who was able to use the IS. He then finds himself attending the busy academy dominated by girls. As it turns out Shinonono Houki, a childhood friend, is one of his new classmates. Thoughts: I think that the creators got this thing pretty much right. It's funny, got a decent story (albeit a few plot holes), good characters, the romance worked well, and cool fight scenes with good looking battle suits. The IS's remind me of angels a bit, which is interesting, and it's also interesting how the IS isn't really explained. Nobody, viewers or characters, seem to completely understand how the IS works, and it adds a bit of...character I suppose to the IS's themselves. Ranking: Story: 4/5 Not too complex, and there were a few holes, but it drove the series well. Animation: 4/5 It had a few patchy spots where stuff looked weird, but good overall. Action: 4/5 Really good fight scenes, and the IS movement looks good. Comedy: 4/5 Ichika's obliviousness was enough for me, I found the whole thing hilarious. |
