 | Jyu-Oh-Sei (2006) Genres: Adventure, Drama, Mystery, Sci-fi Episodes: 11 Description: Thor and his twin brother, Rai, are cast off to a forsaken planet by unknown masked men after witnessing the suspicious death of their parents. Given only a beam knife and a smelly satchel, they wander together in search of civilization on the primarily plant based world. They soon discover the plants have the advantage. Only the strong survive; the ones who throw away their humanity and become the beasts humans once were. Thoughts: The show as a whole was alright, but the world design was by far the best part for me. The plant covered world, with half a year of day and half of night. Where only the strong survive and the only form of societal organization are Rings, which are lead by a Top, a Second, and a Third. The entire design of the planet was really good, probably better than the story, characters, fights, or anything else the show offered. Ranking: Story: 4/5 Somewhat predictable, but still pretty good. Animation: 5/5 Everything looked good, especially the plants. Action: 4/5 There's a lot of action, it's one of the driving forces. Comedy: 1/5 Not really a funny show, there might have been a few laughs. |
