![]() | Rumbling Hearts (2003) Genres: Drama, Psychological, Romance Episodes: 14 Description: At first, Narumi Takayuki is befriended by Hayase Mitsuki only because Mitsuki's best friend, Suzumiya Haruka has a crush on him; however since then, Takayuki, his pal Taira Shinji, and Mitsuki have grown to be the best of friends. Then one day, Haruka confesses to Takayuki her love for him. Not wanting to hurt her feelings, Takayuki agrees to go out with her. After a few incidents, their relationship gets intimate, even while Takayuki and Mitsuki begin to realize their feelings for each other. But suddenly, when tragedy strikes, things are never the same for these four friends again. Thoughts: This show was extremely well done. I wish I could see the same style used more often, it provoked a very emotional response from me during and after watching it. Although I'm not sure it was intentional, I really hated the characters sometimes, especially Takayuki, and I didn't like the ending. However, while as a viewer I didn't like the ending, it was actually pretty good, it simply didn't end the way I wanted it to. Ranking: Story: 4/5 The story is simple, but very well explored and executed. Animation: 5/5 The animation was really well done, possibly flawless. Action: 2/5 Probably not for action-junkies, although I'd recommend to anyone. Comedy: 2/5 Pretty serious tone, but it did have a decent comic relief. |
