 | Soul Eater (2008) Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy Episodes: 51 Description: Set in the Shinigami technical school for weapon technicians, the series revolves around three pairs of two characters with each having a weapon technician and a human weapon. They try to make the latter a "Death Scythe" and thus fit for use by the Shinigami. They must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch to do this. Thoughts: Soul Eater has a good world design, and some great villains, but most of all the art style is really different from most of what I've watched, and that was what really made it stand out. The characters, especially the weapons were also quite good, and the whole thing was a fun ride from start to finish. Oh, and it has an awesome soundtrack. Rating: Story: 4/5 The story is a fairly standard fighting story, but with some interesting details. Animation: 5/5 Different style than what I normally see, and I really liked it. Action: 4/5 Lots of action, specifically in fighting scenes. Comedy: 3/5 Good comedy, although it became more serious as the series progressed. Links: |
