Episodes: 26

Description:

JustAnimeDubbed: Seeking to find the most comfortable living possible, Justy Ueki Tylor stumbles upon what he thinks is a dream career: delivering pension checks for the United Planets Space Force (whose logo looks suspiciously like a giant tomato). Through his sheer luck (which at times borders the unbelievable), he goes from utter layabout to hero in charge of the good ship Soyokaze... oh, wait, did we call it a good ship? The Soyokaze, to put it bluntly, is the disgrace of the UPSF, and a dumping ground for the dregs of the universe. Even so, Tylor remains undaunted... after all, why should he care? He's only the captain, after all...

Mine (Spoilers): The Irresponsible Captain Tylor starts with Tylor enlisting in the United Plants Space Force (UPSF), fortunately for him, a war with the Raalgon Empire breaks out during his application, and he is then allowed in trouble-free. Working in the pension department, he accidentally rescues former admiral Robert Hanner, and is promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and made Captain of the destroyer Soyokaze(Soy-oh-kaz-eh). He then destroys a Raalgon recon fleet, and soon after the Soyokaze is downgraded and removed from the front lines. After an encounter with the ghost of a former Soyokaze captain who killed himself after being downgraded by Tylor's current superior, the Soyokaze has its downgrade rescinded, and on its way to join the fleet destroys a full enemy fleet, commanded by Raalgon admiral Donan. Later, Tylor is captured by the Raalgon Empire and becomes the Empress's pet, named Pako-Pako. Tylor is injured saving the empress from an explosion triggered by the Raalgon Empire's traitorous prime minister, Wang, and is taken back aboard the Soyokaze for treatment. With the empress their prisoner, the Soyokaze returns to the fleet, but sends the empress home before they arrive. Upon hearing this, Tylor's superiors order him to be executed, which he escapes when the Raalgon launch an all-out strike. Tylor offers to command the UPSF fleet, promising victory, and has his request granted. Tylor leads the fleet to sail right past the enemy, commanded by Raalgon captain Dome, who respects Tylor and follows his lead. As their ships pass, the captains salute each other and the war ends. the final few episodes draw the story to a close, examining Tylor's ideas of life.

Thoughts: The show is a lot of fun to watch, and Tylor's antics kept me wondering how he was going to get out of each bind. This is one of, if not my favorite anime of what I have currently watched. It isn't too long, so I'd recommend it to watch.

Rank:

Story: 4/5 The story is fun and creative.

Animation: 3/5 The animation is solid, however there are no demanding scenes where it is tested.

Action: 3/5 The show has a form of action, which it does well, but I wouldn't say it's "action-packed."

Comedy: 4/5 The show is funny in its way, but does not rely on jokes to drive it.

Extra:

Romance-There is a suggestion at romance, but it isn't explored.
