 | We Without Wings (2011) Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Ecchi, Harem, Psychological Episodes: 12 Description: It's winter in the big city of Yanagihara, and young people will meet and fall in love. Takashi is a boy who plans to escape to another world, but is held back by thoughts of his younger sister Kobato and girlfriend Asuka. Shusuke is a poor part-timer who has to work with student-author Hiyoko in spite of their initial dislike for each other. The antisocial Hayato makes his living as a handyman until he is visited by a girl name Naru. Thoughts: Well, the way that this was approached was a little different, and I think it works really well. Rather than setting up the story with goals and such, it jumps right in, with no real explanations. For the most part, I wasn't able to start making much sense of it until episode 4, and didn't fully understand it until nearly the end. Lots of characters, but they were managed really well. Ranking: Story: 4/5 Interesting, both in the story itself and the style in which it was told. Animation: 5/5 The animation really fits the show well. Action: 3/5 Not too much, but there is some. Comedy: 4/5 Well done comedy, and plenty of it. |
